The Trees Will Remain laat het steeds veranderende stadslandschap van Nieuw-West zien. Deze foto-expositie van fotograaf Karin van de Wiel is van 31 maart tot en met 3 juni te zien in New Metropolis Nieuw-West. De opening is op vrijdag 31 maart, met vrije inloop van 17:00-21:00 uur.
De wijken van Nieuw-West zijn volop in ontwikkeling, met als gevolg een snel veranderend stedelijk landschap. De tentoonstelling The Trees Will Remain laat deze transformatie zien door de analoge lens van fotograaf Karin van de Wiel. Het toont de sloop van gebouwen, het verdwijnen van objecten in de openbare ruimte en de noodzaak omwegen te nemen.
Tijdens het fotograferen vielen steeds de bomen op als symbool van volharding te midden van voortdurende verandering; niet álles verandert. Hoewel verandering voor velen onrust met zich mee brengt, biedt het ook ruimte aan groei en vooruitgang. The neighbourhoods of Nieuw-West are in full development, resulting in a rapidly changing urban landscape. The exhibition The Trees Will Remain shows this transformation through the analog lens of my camera. It shows the demolition of buildings, the disappearance of objects in public space and the need to take detours.
During the project, the trees stood out as a symbol of perseverance in the midst of constant change. Although change brings unrest for many, it also offers room for growth and progress. Visit The Trees Will Remain to experience the changing landscape of the New West and ask yourself what is important to you in your area.
